Late Winter Steelhead..

A warming trend coupled with high, dirty water made for a good day's outing yesterday with two friends, though winter's last grasp made for cold conditions during the 10 hours we spent fishing on a Great Lakes Tributary. I probably spent as much time socializing and taking photographs on the river as I did fishing, but Erick and Kris fished hard and caught and released an unspeakably high number of fish, much to the chagrin of neighbouring anglers. I brought along my compact Canon PowerShot 'A' series, and managed a few decent photos. The high sun and sun bleached timber made the surrounding environment difficult to photograph, I really should get a lens hood and polarizer for the digital camera. Next time, I will probably bring my 35mm SLR ~ time to take some serious pictures.

For the record, the water really was as muddy as the two following photos suggest. Our outing was capped by a few slabs of gourmet pizza from Sbarro ~ one of the nicest 'mass market' (pizza) pies out there!
